Introduction

Kunphen Office in Dharamsala (Mcleod Ganj) Kunphen, meaning Beneficial to all in Tibetan, is the first and the only bilingual Tibetan non-government organization catering to the needs of Substance Dependence, HIV/AIDS,and HRD based in Dharamshala. Kunphen was established with the support of people who were deeply concerned over the disturbing situation of drugs and alcohol addiction among the young Tibetans. His Holiness the Dalai Lama gave His full public moral and finacial suppport to the project and made a donation of rupees twenty seven lakhs recognizing the importance and need of such center. We provide services for Substance Dependence, HIV/AIDS related problems and focus on Human Resources Development. We have been providing Treatment and Educational Program for the Community with regard to Substance Abuse and HIV/AIDS. We have provided resources for the training programs organized by the Department of Health, Department of Education, CTA, and Tibetan Delek hospital – a charitable hospital. Kunphen is a non-profit organization providing service to all in need.
